Growing & Maintenance:
In spring, apply balanced fertilizer for acid-loving plants according to package directions. Prune after blooming to shape. Do not prune during winter as next year's flowers will be removed. Check soil weekly for moisture. Water thoroughly when dry. Adequate water until the ground freezes is necessary to sustain the plant during winter. Apply a layer of mulch 2-3" deep around plant to keep roots cool in summer. Maintain 2-3" mulch layer in fall. No additional winter protection other than fall mulching is needed.
